This coming Friday night, March 9, I'll be teaching how to make Vietnamese beef stew and fresh spring rolls at the Freeport Community Center. I'd love for you to come and have a wonderful dinner! I learned how to make these dishes from the Nguyen brothers in Portland. While they were in college here, they missed their mother's soup so much they called her and she told them over the phone how to make it! I can't wait to show you how to whack the lemongrass. Also, I found the concept of putting fresh thai basil and raw shaved onion on top of your stew eye-opening. Why haven't we thought of this sooner?
