The Coastal Youth Orchestra will perform its annual Spring Concert on Monday May 23rd, at 7:00PM at the Orion Performing Arts Center in Topsham. The concert is free and open to the public, donations are gratefully accepted.
      CYO's three ensembles the Fiddleheads,Coastal String Ensemble and the Coastal Chamber Orchestra will perform under the direction of Karla Kelley and MWS strings teacher Nancy Roderick.
The concert will include a varied selection of music. The Fiddleheads Ensemble will perform Fanfare & Country Waltz arranged by Ben Clinesmith and Dragonhunter by Richard Meyer. The Coastal String ensemble will perform a pops selection this spring playing "Selections from Fiddler on the Roof", Stephen Sondheim's "Send in the Clowns", the Theme from "The Incredibles" as well as collection of Beatles tunes called "The Fab Four".
The Chamber Orchestra conducted by Karla Kelley will be playing Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Dvorak's Carival Overture and Jupiter-Bringer of Jollity from "The Planets" byHolst.
      The orchestra was established in 2002 to provide a high-quality orchestral experience for string students of all levels and more advanced wind and brass musicians. CYO works to provide a fun, stimulating and challenging setting in which young students can develop their musical skills and learn about performance and music literature.

Greetings from Camp Sew & Sew; A weekly creativity retreat for your busy life!
Learn to sew or maybe just hone your skills. Share, laugh and sew together! From complete and utter beginners to the more experienced or in between, all are welcome!
We will give you the skills you need to become a confident “sewist”. Learn to mend clothes, sew clothes or costumes for yourself or the kids, and make home accessories and much more! We also review the confusing the world of threads, notions, all those interfacings and even talk about how to clean your bobbin case!
Our group is growing each week! Join us for sewing in community! Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to Noon; just $85 for 8 fabulous weeks of fun and creativity. Rolling enrollment means you won’t have to catch up! You work on your own ideas in every class. Attendance does not need to be consecutive because we KNOW you are busy! Center for Grieving Children Pet and People Walk: Come join in the fun on Saturday morning, June 11, 2011! We will meet in Payson Park at 9:00 AM and the walk will kick-off at 10:00 AM. After the Walk we will return to the Park for Music, Contests, Prizes, Face Painting, Paw Readings, A Story Walk, Crafts, Personal Trading Cards, Kite Flying, a Treasure Hunt and more! No pet necessary to walk!
