2011 Summer Arts Festival: We are very pleased to be offering these workshops this summer at the East Bay Waldorf School, in the San Francisco California Bay Area. We are highlighting the first three weeks as being particularly interesting for the parents of your school, and the third and fourth week will be of particular interest to your teachers.
The offerings this year are:

June 20 - 24: Care of the Child; Wellness and Illness

June 27 – July 1: How to be a Grown-up; Cultivation and Maintenance of the Soul

July 5 – July 8: The Genius of the Curriculum; Not an End but a Means
And for the Waldorf professionals in your community, Christof Wiechert will be with us again to continue the work with Study of Man for the fourth week, July 11 – 15.

Join us for another fun summer on the farm: Morningsong Farm, in Pownal that is!!! We will be spending time in the garden, hanging out with the goats and sheep, collecting eggs, baking a bit, riding horses, swimming, berry picking and new this year: a trapeze in the barn!!! (sorry, not the flying kind) Camp dates are July 11-15 (especially for younger campers) July 18-22 and July 25-29. Camp runs from 9-3. Greetings from Camp Sew & Sew: Spring is here and I have begun to feel very restless in a GOOD way! How about YOU? It's time to CREATE, to bring forth your new found creative energy and get busy, sewing, playing and being in community with other like-minded, enthusiastic & aspiring sewists!

     A new session of Camp Sew & Sew has begun and we are having a blast! We would love to have you join us and just see what you can do with fabrics, threads

and some great support from other campers! Some of the fun projects NEW sewers are doing:
• Beautiful pillow tops and pillow forms to go inside your new pillow,
• creating a pattern from a favorite piece of clothing, making bags for friends and family members.
• And a “real” quilter is even learning how to stitch “outside the lines” and LOVES it!

    We have a rolling enrollment with ongoing sessions. You will not have to “catch up” because you simply work on what YOU want to work on, getting help in places when
you NEED the help! This is a safe place to create and play for grownups!
Come break a few rules with us!

What: Coastal Youth 5K and Fun Run

Brunswick~The 1st annual Coastal Youth Orchestra 5K and Fun Run, "Go for Baroque...out and Bach", is scheduled to be held on Saturday April 30th in Brunswick. The course is an out and back run and is generally flat and scenic, starting at the intersection of Old Pennellville and Pennellville Roads taking Pennellville Road, right onto Pennell Way, left and out to Simpson's Point Rd. to the end and returns to the start.

     The race is being held by the Coastal Youth Orchestra and will benefit the organization's music progams for youth in the area. CYO musicians will be playing music at the start, post race and at each mile marker!

     The Coastal Youth Orchestra's mission is to provide the best orchestral experience possible for young musicians. By promoting a supportive educational environment and a challenging, yet nurturing atmosphere, our conductors provide an ideal place for young musicians to learn and grow.

     Race fees are $25 for the 5K, $20 for 5K (18 and under). The first 100 5K runners to register will receive a t-shirt. Fun Run registration is $10 or $20 including a t-shirt. Fun run participants who'd like a t-shirt must preregister.

     The Fun Run will start at 9 a.m. and the 5K will follow at 9:30 a.m. Parking is available along the soccer field on Pennellville Rd. Race day registration and packet pick up will start at 7:30 AM.

     Mens and Women's divisions include 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and over. Timing will be by Diane Fornier.
