Friday Afternoon Family Skating for the Winter Months: This posting is to announce the possibility of MWS family skating at Falmouth Family Ice on Friday afternoons from 1:40 to 2:40 beginning January 11th and running every Friday, except for a few, until April 12th. There are several ways to participate. You can pay a discounted lump sum for the season for you and your family to skate every Friday; you can pay a ' pay as you go' sum for you and your family to skate whenever you can make it; or you can pay a single child rate either as a lump sum or as he/she can make it if your child will be joining another family to skate.
Unfortunately, I do not know the exact rates yet as it depends on how many families express interest; however, it will cost $200 per week to rent the ice time, for 10 to 12 weeks of skating that is $2000 to $2400 for the season. Last year it was $109 for the seasonal lump sum and $12 per week to drop in (no rate for the single child, but that needs adjusting this year). I can safely say that the cost will be similar to last year.

If you and your family are interested, or if you have questions, please email or call me as soon as you can so that I can get all the details ironed out. Julia Dodge at jdodge5@maine.rr.com or 712-523. Thanks so much. Think winter and skating! (12/11)

Winter Ski Equipment and Skates Still Needed: We will have an exchange student from Paris living with us starting in late December and are looking to borrow a pair of skates and Nordic skis for her. For skis, we’re looking for Classic or combi, waxless or not – either option is fine as long as they’re in good working condition. She’s 5’5 ½” (166 cm) and 106#. For ski boots and skates, her shoe size is 7 (38 metric). We’ll take very good care of them and are happy to barter for lamb! Please call Jo D. Saffeir at 688-4191 or email jsaffeir@gmail.com. Must love dogs and cats: At least three families in a Cumberland Foreside neighborhood need a pet sitter/house sitter for occasional overnight, weekend or vacation care of dogs and/or cats. Successful work with one or two families is highly likely to lead to work with other neighbors. If you love animals and would like to meet our pets, please contact Donna Levi 781-6565. (12/04)
