My name is Merlin Komenda, I am a 20 year old alumni of Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School in upstate NY. I will be moving to Portland (ME) at the beginning of January and am searching for a small studio or room in a home-share situation. I will be attending SMCC in portland for the spring semester. I am a friendly, responsible and clean non-smoking young man looking to move away from Upstate NY and enjoy beautiful Maine. Any helps is greatly appreciated, if you have leads please email merlin.komenda@gmail.com or call 518 567 3837. (10/30) Winter Skates and Ski Equipment Needed: We will have an exchange student from Paris living with us this winter and are looking to borrow a pair of skates and Nordic skis for her. For skis, we’re looking for Classic or combi, waxless or not – either option is fine as long as they’re in good working condition. She’s 5’5 ½” (166 cm) and 106#. For ski boots and skates, her shoe size is 7 (38 metric). We’ll take very good care of them and are happy to barter for lamb! Please call Jo D. Saffeir at 688-4191 or email jsaffeir@gmail.com (10/30) Two Family Yard Sale: Sunday November 4th, 9:00-3:00, 17 Torrey Hill Range Road, Freeport. Do you have gently used playmobil sets that your child has outgrown? I'm looking to buy or adopt some toys for my son's Christmas presents. They don't need to be full sets, but any big playmobil items (castles, ships, pyramids, cowboy ranch, etc.) with some of the figures and parts would be great. Please contact Kristin Agudelo at 207-450-9698 or krisagudelo@alumni.brown.edu. But because it's for Christmas, please don't talk to me about it on the playground in earshot of Santiago! (10/30) Milkweed Farm Pasture Raised Thanksgiving Turkeys: It's time to order your Thanksgiving turkey. Our turkeys are $4 per pound, plus an $8 slaughter fee. They are the most delicious, healthy birds you can find. They are raised on green pasture and have been wandering around our farm eating grass, herbs, and bugs all summer and fall. If you would like to order a turkey we ask for a $25 deposit, and the size you are hoping for. Our turkeys generally run from 10-24 pounds. If you want a 15 pound bird, we would suggest you ask for a 14-16 pound range. We do our best to get everyone a bird in their ideal range. You can call or email Lucretia Woodruff (725-4554, milkweedfarm@gmail.com) if you have questions. You can send a check, made out to Milkweed Farm, 63 Gott Lane, Brunswick, ME 04011 (10/30)
