Gently Used Outerwear and Cross-Country Ski Sale - Community Recycling!
On Wednesday, October 13 and Thursday, Oct. 14, Merriconeag will hold its annual outerwear and cross-country ski sale. This is a wonderful opportunity to pick up good quality children’s rain gear, snow jackets and pants, snowsuits, boots, hats, and mittens, all for extremely reasonable prices. Cross-country skis, boots, and poles are also sold for a good price. The sale is intended to fit toddlers through young adults (ages 2 – 18).
Merriconeag students are required to have outerwear for all seasons, for outside activities in the rain, mud and snow…and they also need clothing and equipment for the cross-country (Nordic) ski programs which start in Grade two. This is a great way to keep them equipped at low cost while encouraging recycling within our community.
In past years, parents have been very appreciative of the great bargains they found at the sale and are counting on finding reasonably priced, great outerwear again this year. To make this happen, we need your contributions of gently used outerwear, and cross-country skis that are in ski-ready condition. By “gently used” we mean: We only want it if it’s something you would consider buying for your own children. We will be collecting the outerwear and Nordic ski equipment the first week of October, so please start looking at your children’s outerwear needs, and consider donating those items you would like to contribute. Watch for more Tuesday News announcements in the future.
We also need a few volunteers to help with collecting, sorting and selling. Outerwear Sale volunteers get first dibs, so contact Lynne Espy by email or call 207.865.3900 Ext. 116, now if you can help!
