Summer Explorers CampSummer Explorers Camp July 18 - 22, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. July 25 - 29, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Summer Camp Afternoon Program Note: We have increased interest in an afternoon program for the two weeks of summer camp, July 18 through 29th. We will be designing a relaxed afternoon with lunch, restful activities, art projects, and games. The cost for extending the program to 3:00 will be an additional $50. Campers will need to bring a bag lunch. As we are shaping this afternoon program and the staffing around the age groups, we encourage interested families to contact Kathy Watko, bookkeeper@merriconeag.org, as soon as possible.
Campers explore “Gnomeville” and the surrounding meadows and woodlands of Merriconeag’s beautiful 75 acre Desert Road Campus in Freeport, Maine. They will learn about the animals and insects in the area through stories, song, painting and crafts.
Oliver Kinzer is a native of Germany. He came to Maine in 2001. Oliver has been the German teacher for Kindergarten through 8th grade at Merriconeag since 2005. Through his many years of experience in arts, language, nature studies, athletics, social work, culinary arts, crafts, and music - as well as being a father, Oliver feels at home in creating exciting, inspiring, and versatile activities for children of all ages.
